  1. PART B: - PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS

    In addition to the security measures, additional technical and commercial product requirements also apply.  When reviewing your application Betfair will take an overall view of the application with the expectation that the software will work as efficiently as possible with regards to data requests (market data, prices, volumes).  For example,

  2. Please observe the following and ensure your application adheres to our requirements and data control policy.

1. Trading applications should use the Stream API for dynamic data (price, market & order data). 

2. If using listMarketBook/listRunnerBook your application should not make any more than five market price/runner requests, per market in any one second.  Any interface that displays specific runners only should use the listRunnerBook if the data for other runners isn't required within the context of the interface.

3. Real-time market data is only available to logged in customers for the purpose of betting. All requests including real-time market, volume and price data requests must be made by the end-user account.

4. Where data is required for testing, analysis, training or simulation modes, the delayed data App Key or historical data services must be used

5. Your application must interact with Betfair Exchange API operations for all Betfair functionality, including, but not limited to, market navigation and bet placement.

  1. Gambling Commission Requirements

    The UK Gambling Commission has published their requirements for ‘Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards’ which all UK based operators including Betfair and its Software Vendor licensees must adhere to. It is your responsibility to review the requirements as outlined here to ensure that your software complies.

    International Regulation (Italy, Denmark, Spain)

    Specific licensing and product requirements apply to products aimed at customers based in Italy, Spain & Denmark. Therefore, if you wish to develop products for residents of either country please contact us directly for further information.  Additional licensing fees may also apply.
